/Preferred/ installs are done from the disk because from a support
perspective we have a better idea of what the system is made up of.
But from my personal perspective, using our theme and JACK/Ardour/RT is
not Ubuntu Studio. But those are still multime
(<-official way it should be written) eg: Installation
questions and such.

Grabbing everything *but* -desktop, -settings and -menu should be fine
for "normal" users. Using the rest over top of a Ubuntu install *will*
work but can cause issues if you remove later. They are best left to
advanced users.

Thanks for creating deb package.
Cinepaint was removed from Debian during a GTK1 purge and also because
it was unmaintained (IIRC). So it was removed from Ubuntu. Since it has
finally been updated I have wanted to get it back into Ubuntu but looks
like it won't happen for this cycle.

It should also be noted that using the Pulse-JACK plugin just adds
latency and that hard-core users will just use JACK. The plugin will
help new/casual users and people who want PA/JACK apps to talk to each
other.

Because it requires backporting other libs that effect other apps. One's
that we aren't gonna be responsible for at this time. Things may change,

The above info looks right.
I have noticed the changes to SAMBA recently and there were enough
quirks to drive me to use NFS. I actually get faster transfer speeds on
average from it.
I just want to note, that packages that have or require major libraries
as well will not be backported.
So this includes JACK.

repo will be tested. Once they are in a normal archive, the will be
removed from the PPA.

I still use windows myself for very specific tools that just don't exist
in Linux.
Use free tools where you can and come back later if they don't. Things
change quickly around here. :)

the latest Fontmatrix and I think it outmatches
GNOME Specimen clearly in 2 areas.
* The ability to display fonts not installed.
* And finally the ability to enable them.
There are also other nice little pluses but I'll let you guys figure
those out.
