at the moment i dont have here the FA-101, but serely I can share my settigs
with you. and yes it was with generic kernel. Just install it, jack will be
pre configured. then go to ubuntustudio controls and enable raw1394. On
qjackctl create a new profile on the setup, choose firewire as the driver

With the -rt kernel, how is JACK set up? Since were using the same device,
could you send a screenshot with your JACK setup screen(s)? I'm just
worried that all my fiddling will be for naught if I perform a fresh US

Craig, Do a fresh install. its better and less time consuming than fiddling
around with some problems, there are some changes between the 2 versions.
I am using the generic Kernel and also the FA-101 without problems in here.
