Thanks Mike. So the answer is yes; I would end up with an essentially a system in coma. :) I understand that the pros do not want to use wireless for obvious reasons. Maybe a Live DVD would be helpful. ?? I personally have not had this problem in the past and hopefully won't in the future.

I have had success with either ndiswrapper or Linuxant's Driverloader with Windows drivers to get mu USB wireless devices to operate. Neither of these options work with the rt kernel. I ended up pulling a network cable to my UStudio computer. Let us know if you find a solution. Cliff -

wever, UbuntuStudio updates as of a couple of days ago have disabled the wireless connection in UbuntuStudio. It is a bug. I'm not sure where the problem is, but I know it's been reported. I'm not sure if it's just certain wifi cards or what. But it's not the RT kernel, and
