[ubuntu-uk] Cheap laptop for sale?

Looking for a cheap used or refurbished laptop for a project. Price is the major concern. Not much is needed in the way of spec, it just needs to run an XSession (not GNOME) and Rhythmbox, have half-decent sound through a pair of headphones, and have a reasonable-sized hard disk, say 10GB minimum.

Was having a chat with a neighbour the other dayshe said that she has a local chap who comes from a nearby town to see to her computer which is running windows- she pays him £30 per hour. She said she wouldn't want to change her system because how would she know how to get help for Linux?
