Hi Tom, Thanks for your tip. I use POP3 so I'll try what you suggest. I've been using Evolution for a couple of years with no problem so I am disappointed that it appears to have gone belly-up. I also like Thunderbird, so if I can copy my stuff over, it won't be a chore to use that instead. Ch
