There is an interesting post on ZDNet, about making a video for Linux.
You may have read about that subject already, but the talkback comments
on that site are worth reading. There is one person called Loverock
Davidson who is vehemently against Linux, and it would seem that he is
totally blind

Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to clear out the home directory on
Ubuntu when a user logs out?
Basically what I to achieve is have a script run to automatically when a
user logs out of their Gnome session so it resets everything back to the
default. I've tried putting a couple o

Are you using a KVM switch? Whenever this happens to me, it's invariably
because I have used my keyboard-video-mouse switch to switch to another
PC, and

Hi Farran,
I think we need a few more details, such as what version of Ubuntu
you're running, which desktop (Gnome/KDE/XFCE/other), what version of
rosegarden is installed (you should be able to find this from Synaptic
or the KDE equivalent (Adept IIRC)).

hi everyone :)
I have an issue with rosegarden... and after googling, I can't find an
awful lot of help on it... here's the problem that comes up when I run
it in terminal:

Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to lock down the settings on Firefox
on Ubuntu 8.04?
Basically I'm nearly done setting up an LTSP Server and I want to make
sure that no one who logs on can fiddle with the settings. I've got
Tinyproxy and Dansguardian installed and working but onl
It is fantastic that this is a possibility but I doubt schools and the like
will be sensitized to the nature of the community, will they be informed
that they can report problems in a way they won't have experienced before?
And if not how can this message be got to them?
Obviously all hypothetical
