You say that the DNS stopped working? It doesn't seem likely.
Can you ping your router via the IP address?
`ping 192.168.0.1` (or whatever) should work regardless of DNS, while
`ping my.router.com` (whatever your routers dns name is) relies on DNS.
`ping www.google.com ` will resolve the IP
To be honest, I hadn't even noticed it.

I do dual boot the machine..
I had problems with the internal wireless, some Broadcom chip, I could
never make it connect to a network reliably and some it refused to
connect properly at all.
The dongle and wireless works perfectly in XP, although if I leave the
dongle in while booting up

Don't know if it helps anyone here, but the latest developer release is
2.0.170.0, I currently have it installed on Windows XP and it runs fine. It was
originally the Chrome browser but receives updates from the Chromium server, so
it's now a hybrid ;-)

Chrome is chromium with google influences basically. Chromium is an
open source project and chrome runs off it, with a few bits added to
promote google. From what I understand, google have contributed a fair
amount to the project.

There's 4 stations in
Manchester - practically on each corner. Shouldn't be more than 10
minutes walk to anywhere. If needs be we can arrange for a meet at a
station maybe - I don't mind guiding people (if I know where the place
