Lately my ubuntu 12.04 has been finding problems that i did not know i had and
asking me if i wanted to report them. I say yes and off they go. Is this
something official or do I have myself a nice troyan? It does not offer me to
see what I'm sending. Or maybe missed it?--

I experienced the same problem -- run chkdsk /f (or is it (-f) in windows.
this is a ubuntu security feature because it has to resize a windows
partition, it needs to ensure it wont move half the windows folder to ext4
or something like that.
SOLUTION: boot into windows run chkdsk /f , restart
Run Scan Disk in Windows and then try the Ubuntu installer again.
If that doesn't make any difference then heres a tutorial video I made on
using the Manual Partition Editor in Ubuntu Installer

I ran chkdsk /f on all partitions on the drive that Windows understands,
and still no luck with the Ubuntu installer detecting them.
I checked in GParted and the entire drive shows as unallocated. I guess
this means there's some serious error somewhere on my disk?

If it's not a silly question, what is Super-W supposed to do? It does nothing
on my machine, although this may be because by running dual screens I seem to
be forced into Unity 2D - some suggest you should be able to run 3D on 2
screens, but I've had no luck so far :(

Is there any way you can view the SMART data? There are tools for
Windows as well as Ubuntu that can do the SMART tests.
I gave TestDisk a go (as recommended by a message in GParted) and I got a
message saying that space conflicts between two of my partitions. Could
this be what the problem is? Does anybody know how to fix that?
Here's the output from TestDisk on pastebin: http://pastebin.com/KVrPsgrN

Hello both
Super W won't work in Unity 2D unfortunately but Alt-Tab is functional.
Super W comes from Compiz, 3d only. Super S has been duplicated in 2d I think.

Hmm, okay. I'll try and get hold of another disk to back everything up.
I believe this was indeed Microsoft's fault, I recently re-installed
Windows 7, before which I had no problems with the partition table.
I don't think it was anything on the original installation, I partitioned

Thats quite an overhead for a crash reporting tool, and Im seriously
