So I resurrected a machine that has been off for nearly 2 years, it was

Just confirmed that the Pqi boots fine with Knoppix on it and you have

I am trying to swap eth0 with eth1, my onboard nic is coming up as eth0

You just need to set your Ubuntu machine to ethernet and plug it in to

The devices are reset in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
Changing this allows what I want.

Hi, I have set up a server with shared folders via NFS.
e.g. share point/dir1
/dir2
/[symbolic link to dir3, mounted under /mnt/dir3]
How do I share this properly? So that the client sees all 3 directories
rather than a broken link for dir3?
Thanks
Ian. try the Foxmarks extension, it will sync your bookmarks
optionally passwords between multiple copies.

Try feeding the tft DIRECTLY from the sound card this will eliminate any

Output from the soundcard to an amp - using tape output of amplifier to
feed a small switch box for the tft input, output to speakers is normal,
the output to a tv works normally.
Looks like your switch box is the issue, if you feed the speakers
directly do they work?

Josh asked about usb broadband modems.
I used one very successfully on 8.04 (eee version) on my 702 with no
problems.
I installed the latest network manager (0.7) on 8.04 and this has the
built in broadband modem support so it was just a matter of selecting it
and say connect.

Did an upgrade to 8.10 from .04, upgrade went fine.
BUT now when the screensaver kicks in it will not wake up again, the
screen shows the backdrop but no login or desktop, and keyboard is frozen.
Only solution so far has been the power button to force a shutdown, so
system is not halted just not
Since I installed 8.10 64bit as a fresh install, when I eject a cd
(using right click eject) it immediately closed it again before I have
time to remove the cd.
Due to the high number of issues I am going to be removing it and trying
a different distro.

Ok tried everything and the system still hangs when I load the Nvidia

when I remove it from another system.
(Also tried with xmbc live cd and the nvidia driver there, same issue)
