The home hub is just a router with built in wreless & voip. You just need to set your Ubuntu machine to ethernet and plug it in to the eth1 port on the router, I assume that the router is already setup for BT other wise you need to connect to the web page (http://192.168.1.254) and input your name & password for the BT broadband connection.
