d I understand why.
Swearing in a Ubuntu-UK cast tho, may not be a great idea as it does put
some people off, and we don't want to do that.

I don't know if Konqueror can create symlinks graphically. That doesn't
mean that it can't, just that I don't know if it can or not.

All ClamAV will do is scan files for windows viruses. Unless you are on
a network with windows machines and serve files to those machines, then
it's completely pointless installing ClamAV, or any other anti-virus app

That is one way, but an "easier" way is just to do:
sudo fuser -vik /var/cache/apt/archives/lock
(or the location of the lock file in use)
that should kill the process using the file, and as

I have a PC with an integrated Intel graphics chip (845G) and the
open-source driver is excellent. And you don't have to mess around with
downloading and installing proprietary drivers to enable any functions
of the chip. It has worked

change network cards. Then you'll just have to edit grubs menu.lst and

I recently (a few hours ago) upgraded my test box from edgy to feisty,
I'd used apt-get to get dapper to edgy (which was fun), but this time I
used aptitude and it wen

wiki.kubuntu.org and wiki.ubuntu.com are the same,
wiki.kubuntu.org/anything is the same as wiki.ubuntu.com/anthing
I don't know the reason why, but there is no difference between the two
wiki sites.
And about the blue theme, you can have that theme on th
ticate so you'll need to set that up too.
If you go with the VNC approach as suggested by Caroline then the NX
client for windows can be used as a VMC client too.

and do kubuntu version of the ones Alan's done, so both
kde and gnome users can get the same information. Then maybe we can
collaborate on which ones we should do to stay in sync.
It could be a good idea to get a team of people working on these

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 90% sure that it will

e packages in the main and restricted repository
will be upgraded from the CD, so if you have any universe or multiverse
packages installed then you will have to download the updates of them.
Also I don't think ALL the packages in the main and restricted

used that mirror before. However when I did use it, and this was a while

back to the GB ubuntu mirror. Things may be different now though.

You may also want to choose a different port than the default as some
ISPs limit or block connections to/from certain P2P and BitTorrent ports.
You can look on the Azureus Wiki[1] fo

Not sure whether you know this or not, but even windows doesn't play
DVDs "out of the box". You need to buy some software (normally comes
with the DVD drive) that has the DVD codec on it.

verify that the
key is yours you need to send it to a keyserver which others can check
against. The keyservers update from each other so if you send you key to
one (like "keyserver.ubuntu.com") then other servers will be updated
with your key as well.
