OK, thanks. Maybe I am thick here, but just a last question: is there
confirmation (Guido?) that reverting to 2.4 will fix the suspend/resume
locks? If yes, I can upgrade and maybe help with the UXA testing.
Thanks!

[i945] (Needs UXA) X freezes a few minutes after resuming
FYI: The code for the PS/2 mouse driver is available here:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=blob;f=drivers/input/mouse/psmouse-base.c;h=f8f86de694bbe6cdeced1097d0ac57a4aebab44c;hb=HEAD
If you want to see what kinds of options this kernel module has, run modinfo
I added the cx18 module to the blacklist (usually used for video capture
cards like the Hauppage) and the problem is resolved for me.
I remember doing this in 8.10, but it made no difference then.

I just installed the driver from the ppa, but i receive the same error,
I don't know if i have to make another changes.
Notice that I still get the DRI is disabled because it fails to run
without freezing on i810 and i865G chips. (See LP 304871) message in

I uploaded the logs after logging into a gnome session immediately after

Judging from christobzr's Xorg.0.log.old this is a duplicate of bug

I have the same problem here. And i also noticed that if rhythmbox is

couple of seconds. I have Ubuntu 9.04 and my graphics card is an ATI
Mobility Radeon HD 2400. Thanks in advance

[ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati
I wouldn't worry Christoph, the bug is marked as high priority and it
affects a very big userbase. Ubuntu is used in a lot of netbooks, they
even release a netbook version of Ubuntu. Most notebooks use intelcards
and not to fix this in Jaunty would be very, very strange. PR suicide. I
think a fix
Confirmed here, too. VNC worked with 8.10 and stopped working with
9.04. Using latest nvidia drivers and running compiz. Mouse updates
are sent through correctly to the VNC server machine, but screen
refreshes don't show up on the client after ~10 seconds.

I tried Zero's solution of rolling back to the 173 version of the NVidia

I've got a Hauppage video card. I didn't think Ubuntu was even aware of
it. I don't use it with Ubuntu ( yet anyway, as I struggle to get basic

and disable it to see if it makes any difference.

Andrew,
Installed 2.7.0 driver as reported by Xorg.0.log. I was able to run GtkPerf
three times O.K., fonts O.K. Then I startedl firefox and over half the fonts
in this message are big black blotches.
For what it is worth, GtkPerf was about 2% faster with 2.7.0 than 2.6.3
however it doesn't
Glad to hear that, Dausto!
Can we get the fix confirmed by the original reporter as well? That
would be ackdesha. Or if others using the 855gm card can confirm the
fix we'll go ahead and close the bug. Thanks everyone for the help
making Ubuntu even better.
