Concerning the statement The problem is very likely caused by a problem with
the intel graphics driver., I had a look at different setups and got the
following results:
- Both Jaunty and Karmic, GM45 (the Lenovo T400 I am experiencing the problem
on): crash as described
- Jaunty, proprietary
With the patch applied to 2.6.31.2 , I could not reproduce the screen
corruption problem that is the original complaint of this ticket.
I could not reproduce it ever since I did an upgrade that installed
kernel 2.6.31.3, so on the face of it it looks like another update, and
not the kernel
According to my research (but I may be wrong, I am not an expert), the
patch in not in Karmic Koala either. In current karmic koala, the
package xserver-xorg-core is version 1.6.1.901, and when I look at the

[HD 3670] fglrx + desktop effects = failed resume
The problem is present for the first time in the release r594.
The problem exists because in via_video.c , line 377 and 378, the value of :
pBIOSInfo-Panel-NativeMode-Width and
pBIOSInfo-Panel-NativeMode-Height
is zero.
The patch below fix the problem.
svn diff src/via_video.c
