I got similar problem, when clicking like system tray icons it opens
some other menus, scrolls hang in web browser, some widgets can't be
even clicked or hangs there. Using the NC6220 with intel 956 something.

Bad news. I downloaded Karmic alpha 3 and installed in my usb drive, as I

According to my research (but I may be wrong, I am not an expert), the
patch in not in Karmic Koala either. In current karmic koala, the
package xserver-xorg-core is version 1.6.1.901, and when I look at the
source packages :

ubuntu/
With the patch applied to 2.6.31.2 , I could not reproduce the screen
corruption problem that is the original complaint of this ticket.
I could not reproduce it ever since I did an upgrade that installed
kernel 2.6.31.3, so on the face of it it looks like another update, and
not the kernel upgrade
Concerning the statement "The problem is very likely caused by a problem with
the intel graphics driver.", I had a look at different setups and got the
following results:
- Both Jaunty and Karmic, GM45 (the Lenovo T400 I am experiencing the problem
on): crash as described
- Jaunty, proprietary A
As discussed on IRC that disables any click event. An alternative to
make the touchpad more usable would be to disable bottom area of the
touchpad so that you can use the physical buttons (on the Dell Mini 10v)
without triggering other events such as movements, taps or scrolling.
