I'm seeing the same thing on my HP Compaq 6910p laptop. This laptop has both a touchpad and a mini-joystick in the middle of the keyboard. With Kubuntu 9.04 everything worked just fine, but after installing 9.10 I find that the touchpad does not work at all, neither do any of the mouse buttons.
