I have a feeling this might be an issue with wine requiring mesa to load
the 32 bit DRI drivers rather than the 64 bit ones (on 64 bit systems),

I have the same problem under 9.10, confirmed using kernel 2.6.31. My
Logitech MX518 mouse will start out working fine, but a couple minutes
later I will lose left-click functionality, and after that, the right-
