I think you meant three-finger tap for middle click. also ditto for Asus
UL30A: recognized as IMPS/2 Wheel Mouse. I've read that this is because
the elan touchpad is reporting itself as such, not because of missing

problem. Setting up netconsole to stream the kernel messages to 2nd

I'm using RGB already... Played around a little with the gnome-power-
manager and xset, and found out that GMP is actually working well, it
can turn my DFP off with no problem. Unfortunately I have to use xset s
off on every login to disable this annoying screen blanking stuff. I
had absolutely no

this problem. I'm using Gnome, and gnome-power-manager is not affected, it
works regardless of this setting.

Hello... I've been avidly trying to apply solutions in this thread - so
far to no avail.
New to Linux and have Mint 7 [which I think is based on ubuntu
jaunty]... so I thought all this might work.
I have the following PPA's in my Synaptic repositories
I can confirm this problem, I'm experiencing the same symptoms on a dell
dimension 2350 with a pentium 4 2.0 MHz, same chipset, karmic, etc.
Reinstalling does not fix the problem, but using the older (2.4) intel
xorg driver significantly helped. My processor usage dropped from about
