I did a fresh install of lucid using the alternate CD and my keyboard
doen,t wok in GDM login screen. The on-screen keyboard also dissapears
after 1 second. I chrooted into lucid using karmic and tried to remove
mouseemu but no such package was installed. Please help me my system is
now unusable.
I was seeing sluggish performance with Lucid, but by renicing Xorg to 6,
the machine became lively and responsive again. YMMV, though.

2.6.32-20-generic since Monday night. (there were both a kernel upgrade

in the changelog but I can't find it back. It was something like
there are 2 .pot files Approved for import (as seen using David's link
above): the first one w/ 728 strings, and the 2nd one w/ 681 strings
(the latter judging by 681 appears to be the same as what's in LP right
now).

different vendors). I can confirm that Macbooks 4,1 work fine now in

capabilities and time I can run some tests where people are interested.

lucid beta uses KMS (kernel mode setting) and this is reported in the
log. my karmic system is still using xorg for configuration. I think
this means the problem is attributable to the monitor's EDID data,
rather than the nvidia driver or the dynamic configuration logic.

I have an HP-Compaq 615 machine .I tried to install 9.10 . I was able to
do it after trying 5-6 time now same problem on ubuntu Lucid .I have
seen the problem on launchpad with people have same machine.When ı tried
to boot from ubuntu cd I only see a
I forgot to mention that I tested under lucid with-and-without the kvm
switch. There was no visible difference in the screen images, but the
files I have attached to this bug report were collected WITHOUT the kvm
switch. I conclude the switch is not contributing to the problem.
