The bug is still present in Lucid Lynx 10.04, even if it does not happen so
often as before.
I noticed that Ubuntu freezes mainly after a standby. For example, I put my
laptop in standby, then I wake it up, then I work
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 amd64 on this same computer.
Then I did apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch
Then edited /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/50-touchkit??.fdi to reflect
the hardware I'm using.
Reboot and now works as desired. swapx=1 in this fdi file re-verted the x

All right, more info. I reinstalled my machine from scratch with Lucid,

the drain rate in the Power Monitor go up or down by about 5 watts as I

Appeared after an update maybe one weak ago. After a reboot the systems freezes
with artefacts. Only solution to fix this was to user the recovery console and
change /etc/X11/xorg.conf driver to ati and removed fglrx.

I've upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 a few days ago.
Sometimes when I am typing on (USB) keyboard random key starts to repeat, as if
I am holding it down (but I am not). Repetition stops when I press some other
key.

This problem seems to be troubling me too.
I'm using an old fx5500 video card, so I can't use driver 195.36.15. The newest
driver is 173.x.x. So there's no fix for me...
I do encounter the same problem. I do see the 'lock-screen' just a short time
before powerdown.
When rebooting everything seem
seems rather xorg crashing then a bug in the capplet

When I open the mouse control panel, Ubuntu logs out. If I log in with
the wrong password, this is reported to me. If I log in with the
correct password, the computer begins to log in, but immediately logs

solution for mine:
When I switch touchpad off with "Disable" button (physical button near
touchpad) and reboot, my touchpad starts working again.
The problem reappear, if I reboot with the touchpad switched off again.
