I have an X201 (with the Arrandale chip and and an i5) and I tested the
kernel in #107. It boots up okay but for some reason my trackpoint (and
it's buttons) stops functioning (the trackpad and it's buttons work
fine).

- no joy, except that, with the
Ditto on that. Remote desktop is not usable on 10.04.
I have tried both AMD and Nvidia cards as well as several different
clients. My conclusion it is server side based on the host machine.
I really wish this bug is addressed quickly, I was counting on using
Remote Desktop for all my machines.

Further to my comment #124, I can report that after disabling irqbalance
(about three weeks ago) I have not had random freezes any more. It
definitely seems to be a factor on my system (quad core Intel Core2, 4
GB RAM, 2 NVidia Geforce 8800 GTX's).

repository), but system hand on Xorg startup. I began think that this is
hardware problem, but one guy told me to update the driver to 265, and
it works. Also, he said that the problem may be caused by incorrect
loading firmware
After upgrading to 10.04, these artifacts have dissappeared.

10.10 does not work, as a thick black line can be seen under the Ubuntu

Apparently this was a problem with my Grub2 configuration , caused by
installing StartupManager, which set the "GRUB_GFXMODE" parameter in
/etc/default/grub. Commenting that line and running update-grub took

with multiple concurrent invocations on a single host.

I still seem to have this Problem on a Lenovo 510SL which uses an Intel
GMA 4500HD. Just a short screen flicker. Like in the video. First i
