It would be nice to have the xsettings for nvidia show up in System
Settings, right next to the display in kubuntu. These are apparently
just .desktop files. I suppose the nvidia package should create the
.desktop file ... If a person does not have KDE,
sandlst, you're completely right. The problem disappears if you suspend
and resume. That's interesting.

Hi all, I ran across a workaround in the forums. When it starts up into
low resolution mode, log into the terminal and run: "sudo start gdm".
GDM then pops up with full resolution.

believe the bug is the kernel itself.
As after running evtest only LeftButton has created double Tap events while you
did not even tap the touchpad (I hope that).

Update: With the latest updates in Lucid, finger touch now works (even
with the single touch firmware - I wasn't able to run Windows 7 with
KVM/QEMU at an acceptable speed in order to install the multitouch
firmware).
One issue remains: The driver does not distinguish between my finger and
my palm
I tried to reproduce this bug on my x86_64 based desktop machine (Intel
G45 graphics), and it did not happen.
