It will not be soled for maverick, because maverci's version of UNity
use mutter, wich bring these problems. Natty's version will use Compiz,
and should bring a better compatibility with graphics cards, as compiz
is used since a while in Ubuntu.

I have the same problem on a Toshiba Satellite U400 with an Intel
chipset. After suspending, the systems looks like freezed.
It isn't freezed. The system is perfectly working and you can type your
password and your session will be resumed as usual (but anything will be

When the bug hits, I found I can reclaim my session by doing a suspend,
and then un-suspending.

I just attached a working xorg.conf that I got with some help from
penguin42 in #ubuntu-bugs.
So the problem really is that X -configure doesn't give a working
