The maximise behaviour of windows in a twinview setup changes with
xserver packages version 1.9.0-0ubuntu7.1. After upgrade panels (gnome)
span all screens and windows (metacity) maximise across all available
screens. Previously objects would only maximise within their
Dell Studio XPS Laptop 1647 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670
When using a Huawei Vodafone USB-dongle the system freezes within 30 seconds.
After disabling almost all applications and bluetooth/wireless and changing the
resolution from HD to 1280x720 and reduce backlight to minimum I'm able to use

That's because you removed nvidia-common (which is what Jockey uses to do
hardware detection with nvidia).
In other words I think things are ok. A one-line change in Jockey didn't
cause that.

others. Switching on and off again the Desktop Effects makes it go
away for a while.

As far as I read there is no way to disable a PCI slot, so the solution is to
force the use of the correct slot.
Check in your /var/log/Xorg.0.conf, you should find a line like this (this is
from another computer, so the chip type will be different):

Yes, i confirm it, I activated the propetary nvidia drivers after the
installation and in the splash screen it overwrite execution lines
