I installed Kubuntu 10.04 LTS and I
This is erratic. I have blacklisted radeon from autoloading by adding
it in /etc/modprobe.d/. I then load it manually in rc.local to be able
to turn the card off. I now can boot on battery fine. Or could. Lately
I've had boot trouble again, but this might be for Other Reasons.

@Albert, I uninstalled the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package and I
still see the record extension being loaded in the /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file
Could you post some way to prevent that extension being loaded and test
if X still crashes?

I got the same problem that my mouse clicks became useless after
compiling an e-mail in Thunderbird. It looks like it happened when
clicking on the Stardict application which was at the back of the
compose window, and then before it could get focus, quickly clicked on
the compose window again.
Octavio, what you are describing sounds like a different bug. I had no
issues increasing acceleration via the mouse configuration GUI. The
problem reported here has to do with the interpretation of the fraction
defined by accelNum and accelDenom in xinput.

Added pictures of both screens. The correct one is conected by VGA. The
other screen, and i tried several. is connected by displayport. The
picture is of a 16:9 screen with a 4:3 resolution but thats not the
issue.

Kubuntu 11.04 on x86_64 here. Using nvidia-glx-185 - 270.41.06-0ubuntu1.
Resizing konsole window crashed system. Shh still worked so I did a

Indeed, in all my stacktraces above, the list shared lib is

How can we get the full stacktrace for a bug like this? For me, it
happens once every couple days (sometimes once a day, sometimes once a
week). But I can't reproduce it on demand (i.e. while running X under
