Same here. Normally using german neo2 layout but system wide keyboard setting
is US. When changing explicitely to neo2 within my X session in settings
keyboard settings, not using the system wide setting, it is fine there (neo 2).
But on the login screen it is always US layout. On textmode
I get this a lot to suddenly, not a nice impression for a new stable release.

I manage to reproduce it systematically when playing Flash videos in Chrome
either from Youtube or Vimeo, it's guaranteed to crash with an 11 signal, then

updating) this problem used to happen under two situations:
1. If I used a low-latency kernel (ie: fully preemptive). I switched to
voluntary preemption.
2. If I enabled V-Sync + Escritorio libre de fragmentaciones

my symptoms where:
-mouse failing to get focus on various windows
-keyboad alt-tab also not responding
-unity keeps focus
-and other kinds of weird behaviour of the mouse

only unity3d is affected since unity2d runs without problems.

BTW, it didn't bother me much before, when scaling worked properly, but is it
intended behaviour, that if one sets real resolution After scale
I have found that using X forwarding with putty is what triggers this
condition for me. If I switch to another tty (Alt-Crtrl-F2), I can list
the putty processes, kill them, and free X to respond to mouseclicks
again.

Problem : Ubuntu 12.04 freezes , not able to click any button on

3/4th black and 1/4th grey color. power off is the only option.

I am affected by the same bug. The freeze happens every time I
close/open the lid (I have the power settings configured as do nothing
when I close the lid).
To avoid the freeze, I had to configure the Power settings to suspend my

I just manually installed 295.49 from NVIDIA's website, and things are
working well now. Previously, I couldn't run Unity3D, so I switched to
XFCE. Unity3D wouldn't even start up - it would just hang when I tried
to login. Even in XFCE, I still had problems with OpenGL screensavers

Lagging here too. Using GeForce 7600 GS. This driver (295.49) doesn't
freeze the machine which 295.40 did, but Unity3D is slow and the
computer lagging much and swaps (especially using Firefox). Unity3D is

Only one resolution is available, 1280x1024, 60 Hz, which is not optimal
resolution for this monitor, Samtron 55B.
DDC and EDID show bigger list of resolutions. Error appeared after upgrading to
Ubuntu 10.11 from 10.04. Second upgrade, to 11.11 did not change anything.

Okay, so it happened again today, except it's no longer a white box. It's hard
to explain but I recorded a video of it.
I also managed to save a copy of dmesg from when this was happening, if it's
relevant.

As a further update to my previous comment, while the xorg-edgers ppa
has resolved my problems to the point my system is useable when running
compiz, time has revealed slightly more severe problems than previously
reported. Largely it's as I said - as long as I ignore the error
report, everything
