Okay, i'm using my laptop with 6 GB of ram for some time now. No issues

I'm testing the 50-synaptics.conf shipped with Ubuntu 12.10 beta 1 on my 12.04
LTS, and works pretty well.
Left/right buttons, both working. Tap and two fingers tap (as right-click)
working out-of-the-box.
Something I still could not correct is the oversensitivity when you push the
buttons, but

posted is correct - the modification time is 20 minutes before the time

On bootup, the laptop builtin mouse works correctly (even the scroll pad
works) on the graphics log in screen. But when you log in, the mouse
cursor disappears and stops working. I have to use my bluetooth mouse
from this point on.

I installed Linux Mint 13, the Mate variety. I don't seem to get the
crash anymore. The system looks pretty stable.
Interestingly, after installing the light-themes package (for a
...ubuntu-like look), I was immediately able to reproduce the crash.
Removing light-themes or simply using the
Remove compiz...
sudo apt-get remove --purge compiz*
Am using ubuntu 12.04... It worked for me...

Not sure if it helps, but I get the same issue using Ubuntu 12.10 with
kernel 3.5.0-14-generic -- I am using this on netbook with the
gma500_gfx driver (Dell Mini 12). When resuming from suspend, I also
get the black screen with mouse-pointer visible.
