1. In his setup it's a kernel update, using the older kernel works. Can you do

Installing fglrx driver results in no desktop on fresh install of ubuntu
12.10 64 bit, and generates crash reports. I installed using software
sources and manual install by command lin
apport-gpu-error-intel.py is just a script that gets run when udev
detects a GPU fault. I am not able to reproduce any of the problems
people are reporting, but probably that's because I do not get GPU
faults on my hardware.

I have been having a very similar issue with Ubuntu 12.10 and Gnome
Shell. I am not entirely sure but I think that I have now fixed it by
replacing my video card. The old one was an ATI X1300 with 128 megs and
the new one is an ATI HD4650 with 512 megs. I suspect that the old card
was only marginal

I had this bug sporadically, too. I cannot reproduce it, though. Usually
pressed Ctrl-Alt-F1, logged in on console and killed X. Now I have tried
to do the

This worked! I am using two mice with Kubuntu 12.04, namely the builtin
AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualP
