reboots, no matter what.
I installed 3.9 mainline, and its doing fine. What is going on. The new
pulseaudio takes up most of the CPU, 3.8.0-18 doesn't boot... it's a
little late to be doing world-shaking bugs, no?

Instead of patching apt, wouldn't it be easier to ship a script like do-

Yes, I can reproduce this, using the right-click emulator of onboard
makes the touch clicking fail. Probably I did not see this earlier as I
rarely use the right click. Seems that my suggested patch is only a
partial fix.

Th guvcview is still making bad jpeg files and good png files from the
webcam. I tried a lot, but could not reproduce the crash in Xorg. I

Just to reiterate, the ability to mirror the display across two monitors
using a resolution equal to that of the lower resolution of the two
monitors was a feature

I echo your points about Xv clearly beating OpenGL in video playback,

In 13.04 (beta) 64bit it occurs more frequently again than I noticed it
in 12.10. This last time it even occured in a Win7-guest in Virtualbox.
Almost same hardware as before, just graphics soundcard changed.
My Hardware:
Asus P7P55D
Intel i5 750
8GB RAM
ATI HD 7850
SATA-HDDs
USB-Logitech Mouse
Aha - if I switch outputs to dvi (1920x1080) and vga (1280x1024) the
problem disappears..
So, a combination of hdmi and dvi dual monitor output is causing
problems on this setup.

This doesn't appear to actually be fixed and the workaround of running
the below command no longer works on Ubuntu 13.04 with linux 3.8.0-18.
Is there a way to get the fix from 3.9 into 13.04? My system is so
unresponsive at times, and it happens fairly often, that I can't do
anything with the

I agree, the problem reappeared with Kernel 3.8 and there is no
workaround. I don't use ubuntu anymore, but Debian Testing and the
Liquorix Kernel 3.8-6.dmz.1.
