I am running ubuntu 14.04 and I am a newbie, I am learning linux but as
I am very much concerned with all hardware of the pc to be successfully
installed. But in ubuntu I found that AMD Graphics and the intel
graphics that came along with the dell laptop can't get

I was actually still running Ubuntu 12.04. It was last July.
When I did last summer's firmware update for Linux kernel drivers I got a black
screen. It would not roll back to a previous version.

I then tried the 14.04 as a fresh install and only got snow with my
@madbiologist: thanks for looking into it. I haven't upgraded to the A12
BIOS because the list of fixes and enhancements was very small and only
mentioned it was a fix for some issues when upgrading to Windows 8.
(Additionally, Dell doesn't provide a way to update the BIOS from Linux
for this
