I reinstalled my laptop with wily (15.10) while hoping kernel 4.2.0.7
could fix the problem. I got a step forward. The drm related error is
gone, but a seg fault rises up in Xorg.log and I ended up in a black
screen when switching to nvidia:

Comment #37: Yes, there is only one display port and one vga port. Since
the only display port to vga adapter that I found localy available costs
around 15 euros i decided to buy a new video adapter instead. I bought
the cheapest low profile Nvidia g210 based video adapter and solved the

A few more data points.
I booted stable Vivid, then dist-upgraded to Wily. When I open the
Displays setting, the highest resolution I'm offered is 16:9 at
2560x1440. There's no option to go to 3440x1440, which is the native
resolution of this monitor.
Debian unstable seems to have no problems
I enabled ppa:canonical-x/x-staging. Corruption looks now a little
different, but is still there.

The bug is not only triggered by LibreOffice: I managed to crash my
machine simply by putting load on it ("git gc --aggresive") and trying
to change Nautilus' preferences.
It seems as if upstream kernel commit

nvidia-331 is now replaced by nvidia-340, and that issue seem fixed
since a while now.

On my Ubuntu 15.04 over a MacBook Pro 8.2, this error appears trying to make
Radeon GPU working. This machine, actually, works only with Intel graphics and
with the Radeon disable by this trick in the grub:
