A workaround, if you really need auto-login, is to install lightdm (at
this point still choose gdm3), enable auto-login via gnome settings,
then switch to lightdm (sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm3). Not sure why it
autologins but it does. Can't lock the gnome session however as not
using gdm anymore.

It also happens with driver nvidia-340.108 in elementary OS 5.1.6 Hera.
In my case the error happens with VLC when trying to open the Hikvision rstp
streaming (H264), the error lines run fast but stop when closing VLC.

I applied the patch attached (libX11) but the crash still occurs with less

propritary (like it is on 18.4) and it works now as. seems anything in
