The issue happens to Xilinx zcu102/104/106 boards (arm64, mali gpu).

Somehow today's Hirsute updates have broken evdi with Xor
When drmSetMaster fails it generally means a display server (Xorg) is
trying to start while some other display server is already busy with the
graphics hardware (has not yet called drmDropMaster).
That "other" display server might be plymouthd if the login screen fails
to start. To test that theor
I debugged this further and discovered that one of the following updates
caused evdi with kernel 5.10 to start failing as described above:

can no longer compile the evdi kernel module with the 5.11 kernel. So,
to work around this, I need to keep using the 5.10 kernel instead.
But I can't,
