Touchpad just started working again with the following output in dmesg:

synchronization, throwing 4 bytes away.

I'm still having an issue with this on a fully-updated Lucid system (the
same one as in the original report). Touchpad works fine in GDM, works
fine immediately after resume from suspend (for a second or so) then
completely stops responding to touches. It had gone away for a while but
has returned
What version is this resolved in? It's still happening on my up-to-date
lucid.

My touchpad stops working once logged into GNOME. The touchpad works as
expected in GDM.
Expected:
Touchpad works normally after logged into desktop.
Actually happened:
Touchpad stopped responding during the GDM - Desktop transition.

It seems to work now even after a reboot now; I'm not sure what changed.
