I just tried in on a Asus EEE 1005HA, using Maverick x86
(2.6.35-23-generic).
Two-finger scrolling (both horizontal and vertical) works wonderfully,
as does tapping with two fingers. It doesn't seem to detect a 3-finger
tap, though. Then again, I don't know if my touchpad has the hardware
This might be related to Bug #308191.
I'm experiencing similar issues on an Eee 1005HA. synclient only ever
reports 0 or 1 fingers detected, despite the fact that multitouch works
correctly in Windows 7.

in my output on a eeepc 1005ha. I'm still able to get 2-finger
scrolling in Windows using two-finger-scroll (http://code.google.com/p
/two-finger-scroll/). I think xinput is incorrectly detecting the
touchpad capabilities,
