I had this issue temporarily worked around by installing an ATI video card that used a different driver. However, about a week ago, I took the video card out to see if the lockup issue had been resolved. So far, things have been running very smoothly on the same hardware and configuration that was

Bryce, I upgraded a machine attached to the same Belkin KVM switch to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) today, and the output of 'xrandr -q --verbose' on the upgraded machine reports status "connected" for the screen in use. I also confirmed that this machine cannot properly read EDID data using command 'sudo
