Actually, looks like I was wrong. After reverting the proposed
repository, reinstalling only the new mesa and mesa-amber packages, and
rebooting, color management is working properly. The breakage must have
been due to another package update.

I've tested the complete saucy-lts stack for a couple of days now, and
though everything runs quite well in general, I noticed one regression
compared to the raring-lts stack. The unity window-spread tends to
become very choppy when many windows are open, or when unity has been
running for a while.
I can confirm that there are no regressions on the raring stack after
running with the new packages for about a week.

After some trial and error the apt-get command that eventually worked
for me is:

This problem still occurs in Karmic, and seems to be linked to using an
external mouse. If I suspend the computer when a USB mouse is connected,
and resume with the mouse disconnected, the trackpad cursor becomes very
slow and I also loose trackpad scrolling. A restart of the X server only
doesn't
