This is becoming troublesome because AU is starting to get a bunch of
bug reports instead of questions and it's starting to affect the quality
of the site and it's becoming more burdensome to continually police
these up.

After updates (2012-03-23) Unity3D fai
Mine is segfaulting too. Launching it in the terminal didn't work at
first, it said ~/.cache/unity/bgcachefile was missing.
Creating that file gets a bit farther but segfaults right away.

I get this on a new Thinkpad X120e, which has the same chipset as the
original reporter.
I'm not sure how this driver relates to the kernel, however I can
confirm that I get this crash both using the 2.6.38-5 kernel in Natty
and the vanilla mainline 2.6.38 (dated #201103060905) from the mainline

This appears to have gotten worse for me with today's updates and -18. I
used to only see it a few times a week but now it seems to be happening
a "few" times a day. Should we try the i915.powersave=0 thing?
Sorry for the anecdotal evidence but I have no idea how to troubleshoot
or reproduce this.
Hi Loic, thanks for the reminder, I missed the DRM upload in the upload
changelog so I wasn't using the laptop.
I've been using it all morning and it's back to it's rock solid self.
I'll resolve this here and upstream.
