The problem really is that .xsession-errors file in the /home/user directory
is allowed to grow to an unlimited size. On my system this file got filled with
error messages from indicator-weather and filled up my entire disk.
manjo@lazy:~$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used
As you can see clearly something is not working, its creating the
.xsession-errosr.old file which in my case blew into a 31G file. Why
cant we create this .xsession-errors file in /tmp ?

Built kernel using patch from upstream, compiz seems work great on the
T42, but I have been running it only for 4hrs now, will update with more

@marc can you pls try with kernel boot option nomodeset , that will
disable the kernel modesetting feature which is not good. But atleast we
will know that the kernel boots.

If you look in the bios settings there is a setting for Brightness
control, and it is set to Auto by default, try changing that to manual
and see if you are able to use the brightness keys.

I am running kernel version ubuntu-desktop 2.6.31-10-generic #32-Ubuntu.
I believe this camera never worked on linux. The only way I could get
this camera to work was to download the source and build my own module
in Jaunty.
