About the youtube video: the fading effect when switching back from "no

I confirm this bug. I have the exact same problem. This is my configuration:
Fresh Ubuntu 10.04 install.
Graphics card Matrox G550.
No compiz effects in use.
No matter what screen resolution or what theme, the gnome-panels are always
only partly visible after boot or logout/login.

workable solution seems to have been the xorg.conf change.
