Just bought this laptop. Making network boot the first option does not
prevent freezes.
None of the workarounds offered for this bug seem to be working on the
present system.

Not sure if this is the same bug, but on two separate laptops, after
enabling an external monitor, Ubuntu no longer correctly detects the
laptops' native screen resolutions when the external monitor is
disconnected.

Symptom: When trying to resume from a suspend, the system does a full

This bug seems to be independent of the Video Driver.
Removing the Video Driver didn't resolve the problem. Maybe this is a
regression with 10.10? Whenever the laptop suspends, resume results in
failure, The system restarts to recover.
With 10.04, I could safely Suspend
Update: Tried hibernatiing. No go.
System crashes. 10.10 RC, at least, does *not* like my VIAO. I'll hold
out until the official release and try again. If any among the pros
would like to work on the problem, let me know. If the official release
doesn't provide some minimal Suspend functionality,
Just to amend that last comment: The message about hibernation concerned
the failure of a prior hibernation even.
