does work (with 10.04).
At this point rather than test on natty I'd prefer to continue to work
with what I've got, until I need to upgrade. At that point I think I'll
just invest in a new video card, might be the easiest thing.

Downloaded CD of Ubuntu 10.04 and installed. Login screen looked fine,
but when I logged into my account I did not have panels at top and
bottom of screen.
I signed up for Ubuntu installation support and have been helped by
Ubuntu support people.
