I got this bug while plugging in my HDMI cable, screen was hanging
(super lag, it seems like the GPU rendering error). It works fine with
VGA interface.

I have the same problem after upgraded from Ubuntu 14.10 to 15.04. My

blank screen when I tried to switch to virtual consoles with ctl+alt+fx

The root cause is we have switched from gksu to pkexec in 14.04, so we
should also add pkexec support in amdxdg-su.

On some AMD graphic card, I can reproduce the issue even with the
xserver-xorg-lts-precise and quantal backported kernel (3.5.x).
The 100% Xorg CPU consumption can also be reproduced by logging out from
the desktop system (back to lightdm) besides suspending the system.
Both scenarios happens
To correct comment #7, I re-did the fwts s3 test with the 3.5.0-17.28
kernel, the 100% CPU consumption of the Xorg process is observed today.
This usually happens in a few cycles of suspending and resuming.

More testings here:
From the fd.o bug it looks like the crash is in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics.
I tried to boot with the parameter psmouse.proto=bare so that the touchpad is
recognized as a generic PS/2 mouse. And I performed 30 cycles of
suspends/resumes. There is no crash observed.
I confirm that i3-3220 and i5-3470S (both with HD 2500) are affected
too.

This is a xorg-video-intel specific issue — the problem others are
seeing with NVIDIA drivers may be similar, but they are probably not the
same. The Intel driver guys know about this problem (see http://www
.mail-archive.com/intel-...@lists.freedesktop.org/msg01932.html ),
although I haven't
I have a problem: after installing Kubuntu 9.10 on Panasonic CF-19 (laptop with
FujitsuSiemens Touch Screen) cursor is placed rather far from touch point. I
have found following solution:
1. Close X, kill kdm
2. /usr/lib/xf86-input-evtouch/calibrate.sh
3. [/etc/init.d/xserver-xorg-input-evtouch
I also encounter this bug, in fact, it exists at both 8.04 and 9.10 at
least. The kernel may hang up randomly forever (I can not switch the
caplock/Numlock light, and Ctrl-Alt-Delete has not effect at all), I
tried to use vesa driver, ubuntu packaged fglrx driver, and downloaded
driver from ATI
And, before hangup, the screen may be tiled with some random colored
rectangle (but all rectangles keep same pattern in each time), or LCD
lost any signals
