After some more searching I've located what caused my problem. I had burg installed (graphical boot) and it did not get updated so it just booted the 3.2 kernel instead of the 3.5 one installed by ubuntu 12.10. Ofcourse this triggers a lot of problems :) Now that I booted the 3.5 kernel no more
