kwin and plasmashell randomly freeze usually when there is a
notification window pop up. I have to use kwin_x11 --replace or
plasmashell --replace in order to make screen responsive. Please note I

Yes Gunter you might be correct. For me it is a freeze but seems related
since other people have reported the same issue stating the revert of
the two commits solved the freeze issue. There are no GPU hangs in the
kernel logs (I just wanted to stress that out). I guess I will open a

Perhaps every 2 days. Initially it is working find (let's say 2-3 days)
and once it hangs (note no GPU hang kernel logs) perhaps every day. I
have teams open in chrome browser with notifications on.

investigated this in deep now, let me elaborate on this. At first I
forgot to mention, my system is entirely a 64bit one, may be this is
importand. Secondly, I have only one AMD/ATI HD4500 card build into my
notebook as a graphincs
I'm willing to do some kernel debugging if necessary, including git bisects,
recompilation and minor modifications.
I'm not that good in kernel hacking, although I'll be able to help at least
