this is happening to me in a lenovo t61 in kubuntu natty when using
nouveau drivers. no problem on nvidia drivers though. somewhere I saw
that actually this was a problem in X11 and other free drivers were also
suffering same symptoms.
this is a bit annoying, hopefully it will be fixed soon...

Thanks Bruce for your feedback! I will open a new bug Tomorrow. Today I spent
some time testing what could be the source of the problem, so I decided to
install gdm to check if this issue also appears, or not, using gdm.
After testing that, what I can say is that it seems that there is something
I have realized that what I said before is not completely true: "It's
something weird because when I reconfigure the kernel and then reboot it
works but only for the first time, then the problem comes back again,
what I don't understand why".
Actually, either I don't understand what is going on or

My Atom + Intel computer is a desktop one , so I only use my monitor,
which is now a LG 20" TFT TV-Monitor. So I think this problem affects to

Actually, I had to downgrade to nvidia 180 because nvidia 185.18.31 had a bug
in my laptop and X didn't start at all. However, nvidia had another bug for
this driver and X crashed for some applications like smplayer, kaffeine,
