This Ubuntu installation has passed through 2 different computers: 1) HP/Compaq dx5150 (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12105_div/12105_div.HTML)
2) HP/Compaq dc5750 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/12454-12454-64287-321860-3328896-3253421.html) IIRC, I had been getting this error since I started using Unity when I installed the first alpha of the upcoming 11.10 (before I upgraded my computer).
