Alright, thank you for your confirmation. The report was wrongly
assigned to xfce4-volumed, I suspect instead a problem with the Xorg
input drivers / the kernel, that would trigger the key event more than

Does this really only affect me? My hardware is pretty standard for a
netbook. I just tried Ubuntu 10.04 run from a USB stick and it
experienced what seemed like the same failure.
Sorry - a bit of a bump, but I am getting frustrated by this problem.

It would not be a bug in the plymouth theme. It may be a bug in
plymouth itself, but this will need a lot more debugging to be able to

This problem I encountered when I upgraded from Karmic to Lucid.
As the upgrade was hosed, I tried installing from fresh, rather than

reinstall Karmic from scratch.

I believe I have the same problem as the OP's. I'm just working on
whatever task and gnome stops updating(although the mouse with still
move around with the cursor of whatever it was over last. I'm unable to
drop to console or ctrl-alt-backspace. I am however able to ssh in from
another machine

I've had this problem on both Mythbuntu 9.10 and 10.4, though it is
intermittent. I'm running a dell dimension 2400 (integrated intel

The crash you describe, and the accompanying logs, match a crash in the
intel X driver, not in plymouth. Reassigning to the correct package.
