Mirroring display works only with 1024x768 (4:3) resolution whereas my
laptop has 1366x768 (16:9) and the external monitor 1920x1080 (16:9)

Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in OsAbort() - Cannot mirror screen in g
Problem occurs only with the mainline kernel which I had installed due
to bug 1162732 (computer does not wake up from suspend).
With Raring's current standard kernel I can get into the desired mirror
mode via (also awkward):
xrandr --addmode HDMI1 1366x768
xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 1366x768
xr
Command has a typo, here is the correct one:
xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output HDMI1 --auto --same-as LVDS1
