I believe the original bug here is fixed. The two other bugs do not have enough information and should have been filed separately. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Committed ** Summary changed: - Ubuntu starts up to black screen. + (needs 2.21.10)

I have 3 different bug reports here without enough information to fix one... Please do not assume that different hardware is the same bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu.

Note that 945gm is likely to be a different bug to this report on 965gm - as the modesetting and display engine is quite different between those generations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu.

This sounds like a kernel modesetting bug; so testing with ppa:mainline drm-intel-nightly would be very useful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173238 Title:

I'm seeing the same behavior on an HP 530 laptop (don't have it in front of me at the moment; it's either a 945GM or 940GML chipset according to specs) after an upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04. A workaround I've found is entering the GRUB menu manually and booting with options quiet splash removed.
