Seems like you're having a problem with acceleration. Can you test ppa:canonical-x/x-staging ? And because you have problems with steam, can you make sure all the 32-bits libs are installed? libgl1-mesa- dri:i386 and libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 might be missing or corrupt. ** Changed in: xorg-server

Before installing the x-staging ppa === Both packages you listed (libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386) are already installed. The package manager doesn't complain about corrupted packages, so I guess there is no problem. Starting Steam with my hardware
